It seems that most long-lifed animals are sea creatures - strange looking things that only scientist can pronounce their names. However, there are many popular animals that live a long time, too. Certain parrots, for example, are known to live more than fifty years. Chimpanzees, one of humankind's nearest relatives, also have lives that span decades. Of course you have probably heard of the large tortoises in the Galapagos. But did you know that some of the great beasts of Africa also enjoy long lives?
